Buffalo core supply: a knopf family company
Who we are and where we come from...
In 1945 after returning home from World War II, with a pickup truck and a whole lot of grit, my grandfather Max Knopf began the Knopf family legacy in the automotive industry.
That legacy continued with Marshall and Heywood Knopf who, along with their brother Michael, built M&M Knopf Auto Parts. From one warehouse in a tough neighborhood in Brooklyn, to 12+ locations spanning the Eastern United States and representing more than a million square feet of warehouse space, M&M Knopf became the nation's largest core supplier.
Then, after an extensive search to find the very best core supplier in the nation, Delco Remy identified M&M Knopf as the peak of the industry and purchased our company in 2000.
Marshall and Heywood then purchased their company back from Delco Remy several years later, and went on to build the rebranded "Knopf Automotive" into yet again the largest automotive core supplier in the US. Supplying cores, new, and surplus parts to rebuilders and exporters across the globe, Knopf Automotive was again recognized for its value and purchased by a large conglomerate in 2014.
Following a five-year non-compete period, our family started up again in the core supply business in 2019, this time as Buffalo Core Supply. More than 75 years later, we are the same conscientious, hard-working, reliable team we've always been, now with a third generation in the fold and an incredible family of employees supporting our mission at every turn.
I am so very proud to help carry on my family's tradition of excellence in the automotive industry, as we honor my grandfather's memory with a few steadfast, essential tenets: great quality; great selection; integrity; hard work; fierce loyalty to our crew, and an unending dedication to our customers and suppliers.
